Please join us to celebrate Milton Friedman’s 102nd birthday by highlighting one of his major priorities: school choice.

Friedman understood the benefits of creating a competitive marketplace that’s aimed at providing the best possible educational choices to children. This year, the Illinois Policy Institute is proud to introduce our guest speaker, Preston Kendall, president of Waukegan’s Cristo Rey St. Martin College Prep. Kendall will discuss the Waukegan community, the challenges Waukegan’s youth face and the benefits of school choice.

The Cristo Rey Network of schools provides a unique work-study educational program to 7,500 students nationwide. While serving families that are financially limited, Cristo Rey’s Waukegan school remains one of the highest-performing urban schools in the Chicago area.

Cristo Rey proves that low-income children can succeed when given the right opportunity.

Don’t miss this important discussion and a chance to celebrate Milton Friedman’s birthday with a light lunch, a piece of birthday cake and a discussion of the value of school choice.
