Across the nation, people who love liberty are getting organized.
Here in Illinois, Liberty Leaders have called for transparency in state government. Because of the call, Governor Quinn now has legislation on his desk that will create an online searchable database of state spending.
While politicians are simply trying to avoid the problem, pro-liberty groups are teaching one another how to achieve results. Citizens all over the country know we need to demand better from our elected officials. The question is: How do we do it?
We each need to determine what we have to give elected officials and decision makers. No, not bribes (Illinois has enough of that without adding to the problem,) but specialized knowledge that elected officials find valuable. You may know about accounting, local businesses or some other issue the official may be dealing with. Maybe you belong to a club or group where you could arrange a speaking opportunity for the official (officials love speaking to groups).
Offer assistance in a helpful, friendly manner and you will develop an in in government through which you can suggest new ideas to improve government.
It's easy as pie: Offer help where they may need it, and BAM! you're part of the decision making process. Whatever your niche, get involved. It's good to be part of the process adding a little liberty here and there. Please get back to me with any ideas, success stories or questions on how to get started.
