Reverend and State Senator James Meeks has proposed SB2494, a bill to bring vouchers to some students in Illinois.  Meeks was the keynote speaker at an education summit sponsored by the Illinois Policy Institute.  He explained why it is he thinks so many legislators have been against the voucher idea.  He laid out his plan for the way forward.

Mr. Meeks spoke and answered questions for an hour.  You can hear an edited version recorded by WGN Radio's Jerry Agar that presents the highlights of his presentation by clicking here.
