Institute Executive Vice President, Kristina Rasmussen, joined WCIA-3 to discuss Illinois state agencies and departments spending more than $6 million on new office furniture and equipment during the last two fiscal years.

A WCIA-3 News investigation focused specifically on office furniture. It found three departments among the biggest spenders: the comptroller, secretary of state and IDOT.

Secretary of State's office spent $732 for an office chair! Nearly $1,000 for a credenza... meanwhile, the state has an entire warehouse of unused furniture available and over $9 billion in unpaid bills.
