Last week, U.S. Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL) was kind enough to send us the following letter (see below). Below that letter is our response.

Finally, I gave a speech at ALEC last week on the very subject of the campaign to crush dissent to the progressive world view. Here is a brief excerpt that is appropriate given Sen. Durbin’s letter:

Those who advocate for the Progressive Paradigm are waging an unrelenting war on ALEC, on think tanks, on leaders and legislators of the movement…. Through these proxies, they are attacking liberty itself. Their aim is nothing short of crushing dissent to their views and destroying loyalty to the Founding Principles so that they can be replaced with a system where the government is sovereign over the individual.
