Research Assistant

The Illinois Policy Institute’s research department is seeking young researchers interested in fiscal policy,  education policy, and the relationship between crime and labor market outcomes.

For 12 weeks, you’ll work in our Chicago office alongside our economists, data scientists as a member of our team.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Data processing – collect, clean, analyze, store data
  • Interpret and write-up findings
  • Fact-check blogs and articles

A strong applicant possesses the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science, Data Science/Engineering or other quantitative discipline.
  • Strong Quantitative Background.
  • Strong Programming Skills. Python/R are preferred.
  • Previous Research Experience is preferred but not required.

The position will pay $15 an hour for 29.5 hours per week.
