The silence continues.
Illinois judges and organizations who represent the state’s judiciary are still refusing to comment about their skyrocketing salaries and perks revealed last week with the publication of the Institute’s special report:Judicial Pay and Perks in the Prairie State.
Calls and e-mails seeking comment placed this week to individual jurists, the Illinois Judges Association and the Illinois Judges Foundation were not returned.
The special report revealed that even though the state ranks 29th in terms of cost of living, Illinois taxpayers are subsidizing one of the highest paid judiciaries in the country.
The Illinois Policy Institute will continue to follow this story and publish developments on this site.
