A Preview of Budget Solutions 2012

Last year, the Illinois Policy Institute released Budget Solutions 2011, a line-by-line alternative to the Governor's budget proposal. To our knowledge, it was the first time in the state of Illinois that someone had done this. And we're doing it again.

Last year, the Illinois Policy Institute released Budget Solutions 2011, a line-by-line alternative to the Governor’s budget proposal.  To our knowledge, it was the first time in the state of Illinois that someone had done this.  And we’re doing it again this year.

Tuesday, March 8, we will release Budget Solutions 2012, a budget that includes real spending reform and that will help turn Illinois around.

There are better and more responsible ways to spend Illinoisan’s hard-earned dollars.  Raising taxes and borrowing are not necessities and do not put us on a path to fiscal sustainability and prosperity.  There is a better way forward.
