Daniel Thompson | Foundation Relations & Grants Manager

Daniel serves as the Foundation Relations & Grants Manager for the Illinois Policy Institute. He has 17 years of experience in faith-based, human services, and health non-profit work in the UK and US. He most recently served at The Salvation Army National Headquarters, managing and developing a complex portfolio of grants to support meaningful outcomes in the field. He values the faithful stewardship of funders’ resources, in order to ensure the measurable impact they are invested in.

Dan believes a key component of human flourishing is the protection and development of human agency, the reinforcement of systems that reward initiative, and the sound fiscal management of government and state taxpayer funds to enable our free market system to function for everyone.

Dan holds undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, where he met his wife. Together, they have two young sons.
