Breaking: President Obama tries to delay mass numbers of Americans from losing their health insurance

November 14, 2013

Since ObamaCare was launched in October, more than 5 million Americans have been notified that their health insurance plans will be canceled. In the meantime, just 106,000 Americans have been able to sign up for new health insurance plans through ObamaCare. Here in Illinois, just 1,370 Illinoisans have put an ObamaCare health plan in their “shopping cart” online.

Today, President Obama made an announcement aimed at delaying the cancellation of more Americans’ health insurance plans. He announced that insurance companies now have the option to delay canceling people’s plans for one more year.

The Illinois Policy Institute’s Director of Health Policy, Naomi Lopez-Bauman, is available to comment on this new development and discuss the law’s impact here in Illinois and nationally.
