11 New Signers of Transparency Pledge
The Transparency Pledge has received bi-partisan support with 6 Republicans and 5 Democrats signing the pledge since April 20th.
In the last few weeks 11 candidates for office have signed the Illinois Policy Institute’s Transparency Pledge. The pledge asks candidates to:
- Support any and all efforts to implement greater transparency at all levels of government;
- Support any and all efforts to implement full, comprehensive transparency in government, requiring open budget books on one, easy-access, searchable and user-friendly website. This website would include all expenditures, including contracts and grants, and would provide details of payments, their purpose and who authorized the payment;
- Engage in full disclosure of all my spending decisions and make revenue and expenditure data as open, transparent, and publicly accessible as possible.
The Transparency Pledge has received bi-partisan support with 6 Republicans and 5 Democrats signing the pledge since April 20th. 111 candidates and elected officials across the State of Illinois on the federal, state, and local levels have now signed the Transparency Pledge. See the full list here.
