Road to Recovery Dotted with Potholes
Road to Recovery Dotted with Potholes
They said it, not me.
This caught my eye as I read through the January monthly revenue briefing from the Illinois Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability:
Gross personal income tax plummeted $223 million in January, or $202 million net of refunds, and reaffirmed the road to recovery will be dotted with potholes.
Indeed. Thing is, President Obama didn’t sell us potholes when he insisted Congress pass an unprecedented $787 billion spending package.
Then again, maybe he did. Pothole repair, that is. The town of Box Edler, Montana (population 794) is getting $73,466 in federal stimulus funds for, among other things, "pothole patching."
