Jess Plowman is the Communications Producer for the Illinois Policy Institute. She interviews passionate Illinoisans about their policy concerns for the Your Story section.

Jess has lived in Iowa, Missouri, and Indiana, but considers Illinois her home state. She has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Lindenwood University, and worked as a local news producer in Indiana for five years before coming to the Illinois Policy Institute in 2023.
