WIFR: Pritzker pulls from Illinois’ pension assets from Russian companies, prohibits contracts
CHICAGO, Ill. (WIFR) – In a joint statement Friday, Governor JB Pritzker, Senate President Don Harmon, and House Speaker Chris Welch confirmed that Illinois pension assets are cutting ties with Russian companies and contracts.

Sales have fallen significantly since Illinois dispensaries unloaded a record $137 million worth of recreational cannabis products last December, raising concerns that limited supply and sky-high prices could be pushing consumers into the illicit market.
Illinois’ 110 licensed pot shops tallied $117 million in sales in January and just under $114 million in February, the lowest monthly haul since last March.

Just as Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Director Marc Smith was held in contempt of court a seventh time, Republican lawmakers want immediate changes within the agency.
Smith was once again held in contempt for failing to place a child appropriately. In this case, the subject of the order is a 16-year-old boy who has spent more than 375 days in a shelter that does not have the resources to support his needs given his intellectual and cognitive disabilities, the Public Guardian’s office said.
