Using our transparency website, IllinoisOpenGov.org, I found that in 2008, there were two elevator operators working for the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. CMS spent $80,024 total in wages for the operators with each receiving approximately $40,000. According to pay scale documents on the CMS website, elevator operators received $18.75/hour and $3,262.74/month in 2008. The hourly rate increased to $19.80 in 2009 and to $20.20 in 2010. This is wage information only and does not include employee benefits.
