  • The Institute announces its launch of Illinois Policy ActionIn December, Illinois Policy Institute CEO John Tillman released the following statement: “Illinois Policy Action will serve as ‘boots on the ground’ – and in the Capitol – when it comes to advancing the Illinois Policy Institute’s ideas in Springfield. The mission of Illinois Policy Action will be to turn into law the policy solutions developed by the expert research team at the Illinois Policy Institute.”

  • 2014 Legislative Agenda. With Illinois Policy Action’s government affairs team having doubled in size since the 2013 spring legislative session, we are looking forward to creating even more value, which we expect to achieve during the upcoming legislative session. The Illinois Policy Action team is proud of all that we accomplished this past year, but we are also tremendously excited by these new developments, as they will only intensify our impact at the Statehouse in Springfield and throughout Illinois.
  • Illinois Policy Action’s staff’s talent continues to grow. In September, we brought on Jim Long to run our grass-roots outreach and build out Illinois Action Network, a database of liberty-minded influencers from all over Illinois who are ready to hold their elected officials accountable by actively engaging in state politics during this upcoming legislative session. Prior to joining Illinois Policy Action, Jim was the executive director of a Republican candidate resource center, where he was involved in more than 70 campaigns in just three-and-a-half years.

Earlier this month, Illinois Policy Action also hired Donovan Griffith, a former House Republican staffer who has more recently been involved in government relations, building grass-roots momentum and policy implementation across numerous states. Donovan will be focused primarily on garnering support for Illinois Policy Action’s 2014 legislative agenda, lobbying in support of bills that expand economic opportunity in Illinois and against bills that hinder personal freedoms and prosperity.
