May 19, 2015

SPRINGFIELD (May 19, 2015) – Illinois Policy Institute and Illinois Policy Action are pleased to announce the hiring of former state Rep. Darlene Senger as external relations officer.

Senger served as a state legislator from 2009 to 2015, representing the Naperville area in the Chicago suburbs. While in office, Senger championed school choice, lower taxes, pension reform and Medicaid reform. In 2014, Senger pursued a seat in Congress in order to bring her passion for improving the lives of Illinoisans to the nation’s capitol. In one of the most-watched and closest races in the midwest, Senger challenged an incumbent.

Before Senger was elected to the state legislature, she served on the Naperville city council for seven years. Her background as a licensed financial advisor and her MBA served her well in public service as she advocated for more effective and efficient government spending.

In her new role, Senger will work to advance liberty-based public policy solutions aimed at turning around Illinois government and making the state an economic beacon once again.
