With recent improvements to the Village of Glencoe's website achieved a 92.5 out of 100 possible points on our transparency test, the highest score we’ve ever recorded in llinois.

After hearing of the Local Transparency Project and the 10-Point Transparency Checklist, Sen. Dan Duffy contacted the Illinois Policy Institute to address the issue with legislation at state level.

Recently, a Burr Ridge resident, Stephen Woodward (pictured),  approached the Institute to help him examine transparency shortcomings in the conduct of his local school boards. Woodward periodically attends Hinsdale School District 86, as well as School District 181, board meetings and advocates for many of the measures outlined by the Illinois Policy Institute’s10-Point Transparency Checklist....

The achievements with Glenview, School District 54, and other government agencies demonstrates how easy improving transparency can be.

The media has been uncovering some interesting spending from Cook County

6 government agencies made huge strides in transparency and together contributed to an additional $693 million in government spending being made available online for area taxpayers to examine.

An audit of the Schaumburg Township area in Northwestern Cook County revealed only 4 of 17 local government agencies graded received a passing grade on basic online transparency guidelines.

Suburban School District 54 greatly improved their Local Government Transparency Project score by close to 40 points since being contacted by the Illinois Policy Institute.
