Government workers across Illinois believe they have no viable alternative to the politician-controlled pension system. They’re stuck holding on to the false hope that politicians will make good on their next set of promises, and that somehow the pension crisis will solve itself in the future.

That’s why the Illinois Policy Institute launched workerfreedom.com, an interactive website designed for government workers who are concerned about their retirement security.

Workerfreedom.com has a number of tools that teach government workers about a viable alternative to the current politician-run pensions – self-managed retirement plans.

Self-managed retirement plans, such as 401(k)s, take politicians out of the retirement business and give workers control and ownership over their own retirements. Workerfreedom.com shows workers that:

  • States across the nation are implementing 401(k)-style pension reform
  • The private sector has shifted to 401(k)-style retirement plans
  • A 401(k)-style plan already exists in Illinois’ State Universities Retirement System

Most importantly, workerfreedom.com allows government workers to see what their retirement benefits could look like under the Illinois Policy Institute’s reform plan, which protects already-earned pension benefits and gives workers control over their retirements with 401(k)-style retirement plans going forward.

Visit workerfreedom.com to learn more about an alternative to Illinois’ politician-run pensions.
