Todd is the editor at the Illinois Policy Institute, charged with ensuring its content is clear and compelling.
Todd joined the institute in February 2026 with more than 30 years of experience in journalism, including a long tenure at Crain’s Chicago Business. He has a journalism degree from Northwestern University.
Todd and his wife, Joan, a teacher, have five children and one grandchild. They live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
