A discussion on how Dodd-Frank is the one of the most detrimental pieces of financial legislation in modern American history.

CHICAGO (Oct. 29, 2015) – The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, enacted after the 2008 financial crisis, gave unprecedented, unchecked power to oversight agencies. Today, the Illinois Policy Institute and the Competitive Enterprise Institute will host a panel to discuss just how that federal package hurt small businesses and entrepreneurs in the U.S. At a luncheon open to the public, panelists will discuss how Dodd-Frank is the one of the most detrimental pieces of financial legislation in modern American history.

The Washington D.C.-based Competitive Enterprise Institute launched a constitutional challenge to Dodd-Frank in 2012 based on the power it gave to oversight agencies. The panelists will also take an inside look at CEI’s case and its role in undoing the harmful policies Dodd-Frank enacted.
